Job Description
DLK Solutions (Data Literacy and Knowledge Solutions) is a dynamic, impact-driven firm advancing data literacy, digital skills, and evidence-based decision-making across Somalia and East Africa. We are seeking two experienced SPSS Coaches to join our team and deliver structured, interactive online training sessions on an on-demand basis.
The coaches will deliver a 10-day structured SPSS training program designed to strengthen participants’ ability to use SPSS for statistical analysis, data management, and evidence-based reporting. The training combines live lectures, hands-on exercises, real-world projects, and participant presentations. Sessions will be conducted via Google Meet, ensuring interactive learning and mentorship.
Training Structure (10 Days)
- Phase 1 – Live Lectures (6 days): Saturday – Thursday
- Phase 2 – Real Project Work (2 days): Saturday & Sunday
- Phase 3 – Presentations & Evaluation (2 days): Monday & Tuesday
Application Process
- As part of the hiring process, applicants are required to submit:
- Updated CV highlighting relevant SPSS training and facilitation experience
- Brief training methodology/approach (maximum 2 pages) explaining how they would deliver interactive and practical sessions
- Sample training material or exercise (e.g., a slide deck, short tutorial, or exercise previously developed) to demonstrate technical and facilitation skills
Requirements
- Advanced expertise in SPSS for statistical analysis and data management.
- At least 3 years’ professional experience in quantitative research, survey analysis, or applied statistics.
- Proven experience in adult learning, training design, and delivery.
- Strong understanding of statistical applications in development, humanitarian, or academic contexts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Familiarity with other analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, or GIS) is an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver a structured 10-day SPSS training program.
- Submit all training materials in advance for review and approval.
- Facilitate interactive live sessions with practical exercises.
- Provide ongoing mentorship and feedback during project/assignment phases.
- Guide participants in applying statistical techniques using real-world datasets.
- Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on group presentations.
- Conduct pre- and post-training assessments to measure learning outcomes.
- Prepare and submit a short summary report highlighting training outcomes, participant performance, and lessons learned.
- Work closely with DLK’s Programs Manager and Training & Capacity Building Officer to align the training with DLK’s objectives.
